On Wednesday, I caught up with Don Wirth, an advocate for Iowans who are blind or have vision loss. Don serves as President of the Across Iowa Chapter of the Iowa Council of the United Blind (ICUB), a statewide, student- and consumer-led organization dedicated to empowerment, education, and advocacy.
Leadership Through Advocacy and Access
Through his leadership, Don works every day to make sure blind Iowans have the support and access they deserve—from voting and public services to community resources. He also shares important updates and resources through ICUB’s newsletter, helping to connect and strengthen the community he cares so deeply about. His dedication is a powerful reminder of how one person’s leadership and commitment can lift an entire community.
